Kim Wallin - Native Nevadan Dedicated to Fiscal Responsibility...
I've been a professional accountant for 31 years and have had the privilege of being Nevada's State Controller for the last six years. In addition to being a CPA, I am also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Manager (CFM).
As a native Nevadan, I am very concerned about Nevada's financial future. Nevadans deserve to know that the person controlling the State's money has the qualifications, ethics and skills needed for this very important office. The better the people understand this office, the better choice they will make when voting for their next State Treasurer. I want to continue serving the people of Nevada and have the experience, training and qualifications needed for the office of State Treasurer. My number one priority will be to protect your money and continue my work to bring proven business practicies to Government.
COMMITMENT TO HIGH ETHICAL STANDARDS
Ethics are at the core of reliable accounting. The Treasurer's Office carries a great responsibility. Every member of its staff should embody competence, confidentiality, integrity and credibility. As Treasurer, I will uphold the highest ethical standards required by my CMA, CFM and CPA certifications and my staff will be committed to a code of ethics and professional conduct.
